Additionally, Carrier Transicold operates 14 parts depots in strategic locations around the world to fulfill service center and customer orders, helping to keep downtime to a minimum. "We have a commitment to supply quality brands, and we only offer original parts," said Jaume Vilardebó, chief executive officer of premium service center Depot Zona Franca in Barcelona, Spain. Occasionally customers ask for a cheaper alternative from a third-party provider, sometimes called a "gray market" item, which Depot Zona Franca does not provide. "We explain that with the Carrier parts, they are assured reliability and warranty protection backed up by the worldwide service organization," he said. More so, when making a purchasing decision about parts for a Carrier container refrigeration system, the most important thing to understand is "the quality of the components," echoed Wiboonkiet Moleeratanond, Ph.D., chairman of S&T Contemp, an authorized premium service provider based in Thailand. "The parts will perform according to specification. Although gray market items may be less expensive, their use brings risk. "Carrier aftermarket parts have warranty coverage, and Carrier's high standards help to create peace of mind for our customers," Moleeratanond said, noting that Carrier's parts team and regional service engineers are also readily available for technical assistance when needed. Likewise, Dole's Sauceda reflected on the importance of the parts warranty, the close working relationship with Carrier and the value Carrier places on Dole's business. However, reliability tops the list when it comes to specifying parts. Sauceda said, "The trust we have in the parts and in the Carrier brand – that's number one." w
