Called CareMAX™ (Carrier Refrigerant Management Excellence), the program covers all postproduction stages of refrigerant handling – procurement, testing, storage, decanting, maintenance of refrigerant-handling tools, and especially training of service technicians who handle refrigerants. "When the CareMAX program was introduced throughout Carrier Transicold's network of container service centers earlier this year, the response was very positive," said Michael Dormer, general manager, Global Container Services, Carrier Transicold. "Numerous service centers enthusiastically queued up for CareMAX audits, validating that this is the right program coming at the right time." The CareMAX program was developed in response to industry issues related to refrigerant contamination and counterfeiting in recent years. CareMAX protocols include high standards for procedures and written processes focused on preventing improper refrigerant from entering the service channel. "Change starts at the front line," Dormer said, "so the CareMAX program emphasizes training and awareness as well as accountability of refrigeration service engineers." With this issue of ContainerLINE, Carrier Transicold is pleased to not only introduce our newest service centers, but also to recognize the first qualified CareMAX service centers, one of which is also a newly authorized service center. With more audits already being scheduled into 2015, the list of CareMAX service centers is sure to rapidly grow. w Welcome Aboard – 1st Service Centers Achieve CareMAX Status, New Centers Join Network Carrier Transicold Global Container Refrigeration provides customer care, including support, service and repairs, through a worldwide network of more than 400 authorized service centers in all major and developing ports, backed by 13 strategically located parts depots.
