The Next-Generation EverFRESH system
Building on the previous successful controlled-atmosphere
system, EverFRESH, a new and more advanced solution
with the same trusted name, was recently unveiled by Carrier
Transicold. The next-generation EverFRESH system builds on
the pioneering legacy of the refrigerated container shipping
industry's original controlled-atmosphere system, introduced
by Carrier Transicold 25 years ago.
As with its namesake predecessor, the new EverFRESH system
uses active controlled-atmosphere technology to optimize
the balance of oxygen (O
2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) within a
refrigerated container, slowing respiration and the natural ripening
of the commodity inside, which helps to preserve the quality of
perishables beyond what refrigeration alone can do. The system
can independently maintain O
2 at user-selected levels between
3 to 17% and carbon dioxide between 2 to 19%.
