ContainerLINE November 2019 | NautralLINE ® Refrigeration The Future Is Digital There's a lot of talk in the container business about how technology in general, and digital solutions in particular, will evolve the industry to better meet the needs of customers. It's clear ... the future is now. Through listening to feedback across the cold chain, we managed to clearly define some of our customers' key pain points and developed several customer-centric advancements to tools and software to establish digital offerings for our customers on multiple fronts. From the ContainerLINK ™ app that we introduced last year, we've substantially expanded our portfolio in this space this year with the release of our suite of digital solutions that encompass applications, web and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions that allow our customers to receive real-time cargo and machinery information, as well as analytics-based actionable intelligence, all with the objective of saving them time and money. Within this issue of ContainerLINE ® , you will discover innovative products like our TripLINK ™ telematics solution, integrated with TripWise ™ software, which creates faster, more efficient equipment turns by providing real-time diagnostics and reducing or eliminating pre-trip inspections (PTIs). As a way to place information and analytics in the palm of your hand, we released the Micro-Link ® 5 refrigeration unit controller, the first controller with wireless connectivity capability, so refrigerated containers can be managed via smartphone or tablet. There is also the Container e-commerce portal, which allows customers to purchase parts and view their order history instantly. At the same time, we have a new version of the ContainerLINK app. Designed with technicians in mind, the latest troubleshooting guides and alarm lookups are easily available as is a full listing of training courses, with registration available directly through the app. These advanced new tools provide insights at the touch of a button, 24 hours a day, through your smartphone, PC or tablet, anywhere on the planet. Through leveraging increasingly sophisticated wireless technology, these new product offerings can yield greater efficiency and improved cost savings for customers. At the same time, we see immense potential in synergizing these solutions together, building in the right analytics and smarts across Carrier's digital solutions, to truly drive value and boost operational efficiency for our customers, ensuring that shipping perishables is simple, transparent and reliable worldwide. Building on our successful introduction of the EverFRESH ® system 25 years ago, the industry's first controlled-atmosphere solution, a new, more advanced and more cost-effective solution with the same name has been unveiled this month. This next-generation EverFRESH system builds on the pioneering legacy of the previous system, meaning it can handle a broader range of perishable commodities than modified controlled-atmosphere systems, and thus making it a more versatile choice for our customers. We look forward to realizing this new digital future with you, without losing sight of our commitment to deliver the strongest portfolio of refrigeration solutions from any container equipment provider. Willy Yeo Director of Marketing Global Container Refrigeration 2 The Most Powerful Digital Links in the Cold Chain The future is here: Carrier's digital solutions enhance customer experience with technology. Despite major strides in technological developments over the past few years, refrigerated cargo today can sometimes still experience temperature variances mid- voyage, which can cause delays, impacts on cargo health and a loss of profit to customers. Add to that the time and money spent on pre-trip inspections (PTIs) for each refrigerated unit before a voyage, and the result is a less-than-efficient system that is ripe for improvement. Imagine then a future where you have at the tap of your finger or the click of your mouse a whole suite of solutions to receive diagnostics through wireless connectivity about the status of your assets and review actionable intelligence to optimize your cargo shipments and machine health. And what if all these solutions came together, where you can move all your shipments and manage all your assets within this single digital ecosystem, where its every part is synergized with the other, where every link strengthens the other, to give you the most seamless, digitized solution you can find anywhere in the world today? Imagine this future no more, because this future is here. This future is digital. Carrier Transicold's interconnected suite of digital tools connects refrigerated container units with customers, providing constant and real-time communication and intelligence on machine and cargo, to help save customers both time and money. Carrier Transicold's comprehensive suite of digital solutions complements refrigerated container unit machinery to help ensure shipping perishables is simple, transparent and reliable anywhere in the world.
