MSC Enhancing Perishable Commodity Shipping with Record Order of 5,000 Carrier Transicold XtendFRESH ™ Systems MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, a global leader in transportation and logistics, is expanding its fleet with a record-setting order of 5,000 refrigerated containers equipped with Carrier Transicold's XtendFRESH ™ atmosphere control technology, as part of a larger order. This innovative system manages oxygen and carbon dioxide levels within refrigerated containers and removes ethylene, thus slowing the ripening of produce and helping to preserve its quality beyond what can be achieved by refrigeration alone. The XtendFRESH-equipped containers are being leased through SeaCube Containers LLC. The Legacy Continues With this issue, and with tremendous pride, we wrap up the 50th anniversary commemoration of the invention of Carrier's front- wall container refrigeration system design. As in other editions of ContainerLINE ® during our golden anniversary year, here we share Carrier Transicold employee memories about the business and their thoughts about our five decades of success and leadership. Mike Dormer General Manager, Global Container Services Syracuse, New York, USA 32 years of service While so much has changed in terms of technology, materials and enhanced assembly processes, one thing that hasn't changed is our unwavering focus on the needs of our customers and helping them improve their businesses by solving problems. We make the world a better place to live by doing our part to help feed the growing population. Every day we have the opportunity to make a difference. Katie Ng Branch Manager, Container Aftermarket Parts Hong Kong, China 21 years of service Listening to our customers and understanding their requirements motivates Carrier Transicold to continue developing world-changing products. I am very proud of Carrier Transicold as a leader in the industry. Our employees are like a big family, and we always work as a team. Shaun Bretherton Regional Service Manager Rotterdam, Netherlands 18 years of service In contrast to when I came into this business, electronics and software are a core part of our units, with logic to save energy, integration with telematics to allow remote control, monitoring and automatic operational checks whilst on a trip. We are always looking to the future – not just what's around the corner. We listen to what our customers want, or dream of, and all work toward that same goal. It's something I really enjoy. In focusing on customer needs, our employees at every level have continued to evolve, refine and produce refrigeration systems that set the standard for the container shipping industry. We thank them and our loyal customers for their years of dedication and support. As 2018 draws to an end, we look ahead to a new year with more exciting innovations in the pipeline. Meanwhile, all of us at Carrier Transicold wish you the best for 2019!
