It All Adds Up! New PrimeLINE ONE ™ Combines Refrigeration and Container for Complete Solution A departure from the renowned "picture frame" container refrigeration unit design, pioneered by Carrier, the PrimeLINE ONE container has been developed through a joint initiative of Carrier Transicold and Singamas Container Holdings Ltd., a leading manufacturer of shipping containers, resulting in an "out of the box" approach to producing a refrigerated container. The new 40-foot high-cube refrigerated container provides the benefits of the industry's best-selling container refrigeration system, assembled on-site onto the welded front wall of a custom- configured container from Singamas. This is an alternative to the traditional approach of bolting a complete refrigeration system to the front end of an insulated shipping container. Assembly is done in a new Carrier Transicold factory located adjacent to Singamas' new refrigerated container facility in Qingdao, China. "With its all-in-one design, the PrimeLINE ONE refrigerated container is the result of a streamlined assembly process that can provide optimized lead times based on the location," said Willy Yeo, director of marketing, Global Container Refrigeration, Carrier Transicold. "Ultimately, our objective with this introduction is to Reflections on a Legacy With a great deal of pride, this year Carrier Transicold commemorates the golden anniversary of our innovative "front-wall" refrigeration system, a design that helped revolutionize the transport of perishable and frozen goods via shipping container. We count ourselves fortunate to have members of our team who have been with the company for much of that 50-year timespan. We asked some for their reflections on changes they've observed over the years and are sharing their views in this and subsequent issues throughout 2018. Denise Wilson Customer Service Specialist, North America 42 years of service It has been an amazing journey for our container business, which continues to explore ways that technology can enhance our products and services in this fast-changing world. I still recall receiving an order for 100 units written on a paper napkin – the factory was thrilled! Years later, there was the 14,500-unit order that really marked a new milestone. There has always been a lot of excitement in our business, and I treasure the memories along the way. Lee Meng Huat General Manager of Manufacturing, Singapore 33 years of service I am proud that Carrier Transicold has been an industry leader in marine container refrigeration for so many years. We are the preferred supplier of innovative, reliable container refrigeration systems for the world's shipping lines and leasing customers. Our great employees, along with our loyal customers, are the true legacy of our business, and you'll find more evidence of our continued growth, focus on the customer and commitment to innovation in the pages that follow. Willy Yeo Director of Marketing Global Container Refrigeration Carrier Transicold's PrimeLINE ® refrigeration unit has led the industry in sales for the past 10 years and is part of a continuum of Carrier container refrigeration innovation, which started with the original self-contained front- wall system in 1968. Fifty years later, Carrier Transicold continues that spirit of innovation with the PrimeLINE ONE ™ refrigerated container.
